Why are corresponding angles equal ? Is there any proof then please show it to me.

If two lines are cut by a transversal
and the corresponding angles are congruent, the lines are parallel.

Yes there is a proof like if a line intersect 2 parallel line than there will be 4 angles formed angle 1,2,3 and4 respectively
We know that if the lines are parallel angle 1 and 2=180 degree
So does angle3 and4 also
Now we will find that 1,3 and 2,4 are equal
