this is becauseCotton and woolen clothes made from cotton and woolen material respectively and the structure of cotton and wool material (surface of fibre) is not so smooth they are natural fibre though silk is also a natural but it is not in form of fibre from starting. The long continues fibre is made from silk worm cocoon, which is subjected to some chemical reaction and that so the surface structure is smooth compare to wool and cotton and first thing about nylon it is a man made fibre and this kind of fibre is made by some melt technic and it's like plastic so the surface of material gives you smooth feeling compare to wool and cotton but for appeal use cotton and wool are more preferable than nylon and if you want comfort with nice feel you can go with silk but you have to pay that much price fo that

Cotton can be very fine and smooth, usually depending on the staple length of the threads. Broadcloth is a little stiffer than muslin because it has a tighter weave. Cheesecloth is a very loose weave and is sometimes used for cleaning in part because it is ‘rough’. On the third hand, pique has a raised weave that allows the cotton to be used in outer garments and denim is very stiff indeed from thick threads and a tight weave.

With silk again it depends on the weave. While fine threads are used in broadcloth weave to make lingerie, ‘raw’ silk, dupioni, and shantung all use a heavier thread and a rougher weave. Silk is actually a very warm fabric when woven this way. Silk jersey is used in winter underwear for this reason.

All of these are natural fabrics.

Nylon is the only man-made fabric included here. Again the smoothness depends on the weave and the thickness of the thread. Nylon tends to be hot, rather than warm and does not ‘breathe’ like natural fabrics.
