why are densities of solids, liquids and gases different?

Because the particles in are packed closely together in solids, little spaces are left in liquids and far away in gases.

Because Density=Mass/Volume


Therefore Mass remains same but Volume increases from solid to gases

So densities decrease from solid to gas
