Answer:

Plastic is an insulator of electricity, which means that it does not allow electric current to  pass through it.

If the switches are made of any conductor, we would get a shock every time we touch the switch.

Thus electric switches are made of plastic.

Answer:

HI your answer is as follows

Explanation:

plastics are generally bad conductors or insulators of electricity as well as heat

as in case of electrical switches there is approximately a voltage of 220 V

which is very high if the switches are made of metal the user who on/off the switches will get an electric shock

if the switches are made of glass which is also n insulator there are high chances of the glass to break

So therefore Plastic which has a good tensile strength and also a bad conductor of electricity is used in making of switches

Hope it helps
