Hey mate
Here is ur answer
Electrical appliances at home are given a parallel circuit because in parallel circuit appliances are connected individually. If one get damaged it didn't affect the working of others. Also one can easily find out which appliance is damaged and need to be repaired instead of checking all the appliances as in series.
