Why are electrical wires not hung tautly ?

Reason:
- Copper is used to make the wires and they are good conductors of heat and electricity..
- Conductivity is due to the presence of additional electrons which then transforms into energy when heated.
- The atom expands and move outside of the shell.
- As the atom of expands, the wire also expands.
- The wire goes back to a more stable state when cooled in the nights.
- Expansion and contraction due to repeated heating and cooling by the environment occurs every day.
Hence, if the wires were hung tightly, the wires might get snapped because of the contraction.
