electrovalent compound is also known as ionic bond.
electrovalent compound are formed by exchange of the ions.
they have electrostatic force between their particle.
that is the reason they are hard because due to electrostatic force between particle.
so it occur in crystal form yet bittle in nature.
for example NaCl..
