We are exposed to UV rays throughout our lifetime because

  • Everyone is exposed to UV radiation from the sun and a more number of people are exposed to artificial origins which are used in industry, labour and leisure.
  • The sun is by a distance the most powerful source of ultraviolet radiation in our atmosphere.
  • Solar emissions comprise visible flash, heat and ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
  • Just as visible light comprises various colours that evolve evident in a rainbow, the UV radiation expanse is split into three major regions known as UVA, UVB and UVC.
  • As sunlight passes through the environment, all UVC and most UVB is consumed by ozone, water vapour, oxygen and carbon dioxide. UVA is not seeped as considerably by the atmosphere.
