why are factory waste neutralized before they are disposed in water bodies

Because they contain harmful acid which may kill the aquatic organisms and flora and fauna of the water body.

The factory waste is neutralized before they are disposed in water bodies because the chemicals present in these waste can harm marine life and it will also effect our human life.That's why they are neutralised.!!!!!!!!
