Dimmable CFLs are more expensive than standard CFLs due to the additional circuitry. Cold-cathodeCFLs can be dimmed to low levels, making them popular replacements for incandescent bulbs on dimmer circuits. When a CFL is dimmed, its color temperature (warmth) stays the same

The big difference between CFLsand incandescent bulbs is how much energy it takes to use them over time. CFLs use about 70% less energy than incandescentbulbs. They also last years longerthan traditional bulbs, and only cost about a dollar more perbulb.
