Forests contain a wide variety of plant life and animal life. This plethora of flora and fauna makes forests, biodiversity hotspots.

Mankind has to take urgent steps to conserve world’s fast dwindling forest cover.

1. Educating the masses on the need to protect forests, is the first and foremost step in conservation.

2. Government rules and regulations aimed at stopping poaching of wild animals and encroachment of forest land, should be enforced strictly.

3. Tree planting drive should be undertaken on denuded forest land.

4. Forest produce must be tapped and used responsibly.
