Arcas which were once convered with forests are now concrete jungles, as you find more and more tall buildings. </p><p>&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;</p><p>Why are many trees being cut? The ever increasing human population has been the most important factor responsible for increased felling of trees. Because of a large human population, the following activities have taken place: </p><p>&lt;ul type="square"&gt;</p><p>&lt;li&gt;To increase food production, forest land has been converted into agricultural land.&lt;/li&gt;</p><p>&lt;br&gt;</p><p>&lt;li&gt;To create more houses for the increasing population, forests have been cut. &lt;/li&gt;</p><p>&lt;br&gt;</p><p>&lt;li&gt;To create transport facilities, construction of roads has increased manifold. &lt;/li&gt;</p><p>&lt;br&gt;</p><p>&lt;li&gt;Increased industrial development has led to deforestation.&lt;/li&gt;</p><p>&lt;br&gt;</p><p>&lt;li&gt;Increased wood requirement for paper and various other industries has led to felling of more trees. &lt;/li&gt;</p><p>&lt;br&gt;</p><p>&lt;li&gt;Overgrazing of animals, whose numbers have increased with increasing human population has reduced plant cover.&lt;/li&gt;
