because fossils contain carbon an important minerals by which it's age can be detected and if a really old Fossil is found then with the help of new methodology we ca detect it's age by it's carbon content and this can actually lead to the discovery of evolution....hope it's helpful

By simply digging the earth we can find the fossils. Fossils which lie more deeper are more older.
RadioCarbon dating:
By detecting the number of isotopes of same element, age of fossil can be determined.
