The final direct evidence to evolution is drawn from palaentology( study of fossils).

Based on the fossil record scientist have made an attempt to construct time sequence for the appearance and extinction of ancient life and the appearance of organisms living today.

Age of fossils can be estimated by

1)Carbon dating

2)Potassium argon method

3)Electron spin method.
