If the area of foundation made bigger, the pressure applied on ground due to weight of the building will be less. It is because the pressure is inversely proportional to the area upon which it is acted.
So there will be very less chance of failure of the building and it will be safe.

As we know that the building will apply a force on the ground. And we also know that less the area more the pressure and more the area less the pressure. To decrease the pressure on the ground so that the building is balanced properly, foundations of buildings are made broader. ... ृृृ
