Answer:

In our body we inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide.

After passing through the nose, nasal cavity, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, the inhaled air reaches the alveoli. The alveoli are surrounded by very thin blood vessels called blood capillaries. During gas exchange oxygen moves from the lungs to the bloodstream. At the same time carbon dioxide passes from the blood to the lungs. This happens in the lungs between the alveoli and a network of tiny blood vessels called capillaries, which are located in the walls of the alveoli.

The exchange of gases occurs by the process of diffusion.

1. The oxygen from the blood diffuses into the cells, which then use it for cellular respiration .

2.The carbon dioxide from the cells diffuses into blood capillaries. The carbon dioxide is finally eliminated from the lungs, along with the air that we breathe out.
