Hereditary units:

  • Genes are present in the chromosomes of DNA.
  • The genes carry characters from parent to offspring which are responsible for the transformation of hereditary character.
  • The changes in the genes can leads to abnormality of the offspring.
  • The genes contain the expression or information from the prior generation.
  • The hereditary laws by Mendel is observed by the changes occur in the chromosomes during mitosis reaction. The chromosome are where the genes are located.
  • Thus, genes are called hereditary units.
