Gold is used to make jewellery because it is very lustrous(shiny).It is also very precious as it is rare.
Thats why it is sold at high prices so that rich people buy them more because of their prestidge .
Platinum is also rare and shiny
They are very less reactive and hence do not tarnish in air.
So they are used for making jewellery.
