Explanation:

hello buddy,

Plants are called producers. This is because they produce their own food! They do this by using light energy from the Sun, carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil to produce food - in the form of glucouse/sugar. The process is called photosynthesis.

green plants are called producers because animals , humans, insects etc. are directly or indirectly dependant on plants for food. plants diffuses out oxygen as byproduct which is necessary for us to live. and plants also take in carbon dioxide for photosynthesis.this mechanism enable us to live a healthy life.
