Handles of kitchen utensils are made of bakelite because bakelite is bad conductor of heat, which doesn't let the heat pass through it.So while cooking whenever we will hold the hot utensil, it will not burn our hand.

Hey friend,
Bakelite is a bad conductor of heat and has a very high melting point. This is the reason why it used to make the handles on cooking utensils. The cooking utensils themselves are made of steel which is a good conductor of heat. While cooking, you possibly cant hold the utensil or the pot with bare hands. Here bakelite handles come into handy because they remain cool even when the pot is hot and eases the hassle of handling the pot.
I hope the answer is helpful. Thanks
