Human Rights Day is celebrated every year on 10th December. Human rights are important because these rights recognize the necessary dignity in human life. A strong human rights practice will contribute to the health of our societies, our relationships, and our workplaces by establishing a society which values belonging and protection for all.

Human Rights Day is celebrated annually across the world on 10 December every year because 10 December was determined in order to acknowledge the United Nations General Assembly's enactment and announcement, on 10 December 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This day was highly important in the history of the United States because  this was the first global declaration of human rights and one of the first major accomplishments of the new United Nations.
