The moist deciduous forests are found along the foothills of the Himalayas, eastern slopes of the Western Ghats, and Odisha.

Teak, sal, shisham, hurra, mahua, amla, semul, kusum, and sandalwood etc. are the main species of the moist deciduous forests.

Dry deciduous forests are found in the regions that receive precipitation between 70 and 100 cm.

human settlements are found more in tropical deciduous forest than in topical evergreen forest as in tropical evergreen forest large number of species are concentrated to a particular area making it denser from which Commercial exploitation is difficult. on the other hand in tropical deciduous forest they are less dense but have thick undergrowth.Cheap labour and better transport, mainly by floating logs down the river, are advantages here.Commercially these forest are more important.

Thanks
