Why are infinte images not seen when two plane mirrors are facing each other?

When two plane mirrors are kept parallel to each other, an infinite number of images can be seen . ... Each image is fainter than the previous one as some light is lost in the process of reflection. Thus the images become fainter and fainter as their distance from the mirror increases.
