Why are ionic compounds good conductors of electricity when molten?

In ionic compound the free electrons are not present in solid state . thus , in solid state the ionic compound does not conduct electricity.
while ionic compound at molten state has free electrons therefore they conduct electricity and consider as good conductor electricity at molten state.
