Why are lanthanides and actinides placed at the bottom of the periodic table?

bcoz if u put lanthanides and actinides into the periodic table by transition metal, the table will be way too wide. The two rows of the elements present at the bottom of the periodic table are called the 4f series or lanthanoids & 5f or actnoides. they are also called as inner transition elements.
