Longitude lines are simply half-circles, therefore, if you align them out at 1° arc, then it turns to be  360 degrees. Latitude lines are comprehensive circles, with the middle at 0° and the pole at 90°. The South Pole and the North Pole have separated by 180° apart, The longitude lines cross from the North Pole to the South Pole.

While persisting on the North Pole, you can ideally recognize the whole circle of the globe.

This is why it begins at zero and finishes at 360 longitudes. Latitude lines are the range of a distinct place from the tropics. The Equator including the diameter of the earth commences from zero to 180.
