Hey there!
Classification of Living Organisms are done because there's a very large variety of plants, animals, and microorganisms found on our planet (Earth).
All Organisms are different from one another.
They differ in following ways:
★ Size
★ Shape
★ Colour
★ Habitat
(& Many other characteristics)
Studying each n' every living organism is near to Impossible.
Therefore, scientists have made mechanisms to classify all living organisms on certain rules and principles that are:
★ Identification
★ Nomenclature
★ Classification.
EXTRA BITES OF KNOWLEDGE:
Aristotle was the earliest to attempt a more scientific basis for classification.
He used simple morphological characters to classify plants into Trees, Shrubs and Herbs.
He also divided Animals into two groups, those who had red blood and those that didn't.
