lysosomes are found in animal cells. these are spherical sacs, bounded by a single membrane. these contain several digestive enzymes. when released in the cells they break down various cytoplasmic structures and may result in digestion of the complete set (autodigestion) .therefore they are called the suicide bags of the cell.

Lysosomes help in keeping the cell clean. If the cell gets damaged, then one of the lysosomes bursts, releasing digestive enzymes. ... Since they remove cell debris, they are also known as scavengers of the cell or cellular housekeepers or demolition squads

Answer:

Lysosomes are known as suicide bags of the cell because they contain lytic enzymes capable of digesting cells and unwanted materials. autolysis and burst open when the cell is damaged. This causes the hydrolytic enzymes to be released. The released enzymes then digest their own cell, causing the cell to die.
