When cell don't get its food in the form of carbohydrate or glucose for aerobic respiration the lysosomes eat itself for maintaining respiration and releasing energy so they are also called suicidal bags :)

lysosomes are called suicide bags because incase of disturbance of their cellular metabolism they digest their own cell by releasing own enzymes
