An electropositive element is one that has tendency to lose electrons and form positively charged ion. Metals like Na, Mg,Fe, Zn lose electrons and form positively charged ion. Due to this metals are called electropositive elements.

metals are called electro positive elements because metals have a higher tendency to loose electrons.when an element loose electron it gains positive charge.That's why metals are called electro positive elements ....
