Why are metals like sodium, calcium, magnesium and aluminium etc. Obtained by electrolytic reduction?

They form highly stable oxides.
A lot of energy is required to reduce them, hence heating is not prefered .
They are placed above carbon and hydrogen
in the electrochemical series therefore cannot be reduced by reducing agents.
The only option left is eletrolytic reduction.
