Why are minerals called exhaustible resources

Exhaustible resources means resources which cannot be generated back easily. Natural minerals are formed after a very long period of time. the formation of minerals requires a natural condition with a very high temperature and pressure which is very difficult to provide. So minerals are limited in the quantity.
