Mitochondria is known as powerhouse of the cell because it creates energy for the cell. It releases energy in the form of ATP molecules.

similarities of mitochondria and plastid​s :-  1)  Mitochondria and Plastids both are double membraned structure.

2) They both have their own DNA and ribosomes of their own.

3) They both can be said as the kitchen of the cell. One gives energy by cellular respiration and other by food storage. Difference —Mitochondria lack pigments whereas plastid have it.
