The Eastern Highlands moist deciduous forests is a tropical moist broadleaf forest ecoregion of east-central India. The ecoregion covers an area of 341,100 square kilometers (131,700 sq mi), extending across portions of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Telangana states.

bay of bengal,arabian sea
-bay of bengal branch brings moisture from eastern india and takes it to the north.the rainfall decreases gradually as clouds reaches north.thus most of the rain falls over east and east central india due to whichmoist decidious forests are found here.
same is not valid for arabian sea branch .western ghats stops the clouds formed by arabian sea and does not allow then to enter mainland india.and thus most of the rain falls in west cost .(this is the reason why mumbai recieves heavy rainfall ).
