1. The monuments of Medieval India are far more numerous than those of the ancient India and by studying these monuments once can get of the political situation and architecture of a period.

2. Medieval period saw the rise in the number of historical writings.Tabaqat-i-Nasiri was written by Minhaj-ud-din Siraj, Fatuah-us-Salatin by Isami.

3. Medieval period saw the rise in number of autobiographies.Firoz Shah Tughlaq wrote his biographie called Futuhat-i-Firoz Shahi. Sultan Mahmud,Babur, Jahangir and Timur had their own biographies.
