Carbon compounds are poor conductors of electricity as they form covalent bonds, so it does not give rise to free electrons ( all electrons are used in making the covalent bond) and as a carbon compound does not dissociate itself into ions, therefore carbon compounds are poor conductors of electricity. Hope it will really help you.........!!!!

Answer:

Carbon compounds are poor conductor of electricity because they form covalent bond and carbon compounds do not give rise to free electrons or ions in aqueous solution. As result they are poor conductor of electricity .
