Why are most of the world's deserts located in the western margin of continents in the sub tropics?

Bcz the equator lies in most of the western parts of the continents and though there is a scanty rainfall in that specific region so it is a desert area . Examples are - Sahara desert in Africa , Thar desert in India . Hope it helps you !
