Explanation:
Electric fuses work on the principle of heating effect of current. During high current they melt away the fuse, thus breaking the circuit. These cannot be reused once melted. Also the heating effect can cause damage to nearby circuitry.
Whereas the MCB works on magnetic effect of current. the magnetic field generated due to high current breaks the circuit. This can be reused since no part is damaged. Hence preferred over electric fuses.
