in the year 1952 "Mulkhi Agitation" was a political movt for the safeguarding of jobs in Hyderabad State govt for mulkis/native residents, . It was the first event in Telangana movement.
Explanation:
- The Mulki unrest of 1952, which began with the direct transfer of teachers in Warangal, expanded to Hyderabad where it escalated and ultimately led to the greatest uproar – the City College incident.
- Students first gathered to protest against the "Warangal incident" & later took out a rally where many commoners had joined. Several politicians tried to convince students from not taking out the rally; however the students were resolute. Slowly, the rally had become uncontrollable, there was "exchange of stones" & the police had lathi charged the protestors . This resulted in firing wherein people were killed & also resulted in injuries to several police personnel & the general public.
- The Cabinet subcommittee was officially advertised afterwards to review Mulki rules & to recommend improvements & means in consultation with students and other stakeholders for the successful enforcement of the Mulki rules. Although there were no significant changes to the rules of the Mulki, it clearly articulated the people of Telangana 's disapproval & their mistrust of the people of Andhra.
