Why are naphthalene balls kept with clothes to be put away. Give scientific reasons.

The strong smell keeps the insects away,and as it under goes sublimation,so there is no staining in the clothes.while it disappears or get evaporated,by forming naphthalene vapours.It is because of this same reason that the balls come in tight packing,so that it doesn’t evaporate
