naphthalene balls all we can call it Kapoor is kept with the clothes to keep away the insects from the cloth which can damage your clothes the scientific reason of this is that that the naphthalene balls is diffuse in the air and produce a very hard smell which is not suitable for any insects

Naphthalene balls contains certain toxic chemicals which prevent the silverfish or temite from spoiling the cloth. The fungal growth is also arrested due to napthalene. Since the cloths remain well preserved with napthalene balls, they are kept with the clothes during their long term storage.
