negative exponents are used to represent the denominator or say divisor or to how many times the number is to be divided by the divisor
for e.g.(10*19^-2)
in this e.g. we have to divide the number 10 2 times by 19
i.e. in short we can say that (10/361)
it is also used in physics for e.g.
1)velocity =displacement/time
we write it as v=s*t^-1
2)for acceleration we write
the S.I. unit as (m.s^-2)
