New intellectual ideas are always controversial and difficult to accept because we as human being are inherently opposed to any change of nature, situation or behaviour.
- It is similar to the law of inertia of physics if we were to make a far fetched analogy.
- Just like how a body tends to stay in motion forever and suddenly dashes forward when the motion comes to a hault, similarly when we have a predefined set of stereotypes and notions in our mind, we get used to it. The introduction of something other than that gives our set of ideals a shake and we dash forward into a state of controversy over the new intellectual ideals.
- Not having an open mindset is also a reason for this problem.
