why are not all animals oviporous ? Does being viviporus offer any advantage to organisms

They have a inbuilt system in their body which decides whether they will lay eggs or give birth to young ones after fertilisation . yes vivipary animals have an advantage because after fertilisation of gametes inside the female body, a embryo is formed and gradually it grows to foetus .
