Why are oil spills considered hazardous?

Oil spills are considered to be hazardous because these kills the marine mammals such as dolpins,sharks,etc. It detroys our ecosystem.

Hi friend this will help oil spills considered as hazardous because when this oil spills on the water it take out o₂ and Algie come on the surface an take all the reaming o₂ and then because there is very less amount of o₂ so all marine animals are killed and water gets spoiled and this water is harmful for 
drinking purpose or swimming we can get lot of disease from this water
