Green Plants are called producers. This is because they produce their own food! They do this by using light energy from the Sun, carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil to produce food - in the form of glucouse/sugar. The process is called photosynthesis.

Explanation:

Green plants have Chlorophyll that helps the plant to trap the energy from sunlight as it is important for the process of photosynthesis. Thus, the green plants are only able to prepare food for them and other living organisms. So, They are called producers.
