Because temperature of the landmass changes. Temperature is inversely related to pressure and hence, monsoon winds change their direction after six months. For example, during winter, when temperature of landmass decreases and water body becomes warmer, High pressure belt develop over land and low pressure over water body. As a result, wind blows from land to sea during winter and vice-versa.

Wind is developed due to a lot of factors which are influenced by the temperature difference which is related to the production of the wind. If the landmass is more heated from the surrounding water bodies the hot air which lies near to the landmass will gets heated and will move in upward direction and it will be replaced by a cold air which comes from the ocean or the natural large water bodies which are present in near the surface of the landmass. This is the science behind blowing of the wind.
