Hi friend!
Need of scientific name:
1. There is a large number of plants and animals on the earth. It's is difficult to remember the characteristics of all the organisms without arranging them into distinct group and giving them scientific name.
2. All organisms are known by various names in different languages by local people which is called as vernacular names.
3. These vernacular names are short, well familiar and easy to follow.
4. Vernacular names are not universal. They neither communicate the necessary information nor indicate the proper relationship.
Owing to these reasons every organism is given a respective scientific name which are universally accepted.
I hope this will help you.
