When a running bus suddenly stops, a passenger is thrown forward.
The reason is that the in a running bus, the whole body of the passenger is in a state of motion. When the bus stops suddenly the lower part of his body, being in contact with the bus, comes to rest immediately but his upper part remains in the state of motion, due to inertia. Thus his body leans forward.
