Why are phenols more acidic than alcohols? Explain.

Phenols are more acidic in nature than alcohols, because when phenols lose an H+ ion, they form phenoxide ion which is stable. But, alcohols do not give H+ ions easily to form alkoxide ion, which is unstable, and readily take the H+ ion and form alcohol again.
